Would it be good if you could have a land line as pay as go like mobiles? I know you have to pay the rental but if the calls were pay as go then you would never get a phone bill shock. Also more secure for if someone broke into your house or tapped into your line outside they could run up a large bill without you knowing. With limit credit once it runs out that is the limit of how much would be on your bill.

As long as it is still a local call from the prefix that the new carrier uses you should be fine. Ask your local store at the new carrier to help you and make sure you use most but not all of your minutes first. You don't want to lose 30.00 worth of airtime just to do the switch."
